 Entertainment Spotlight: FOREVERLAND
An Electrifying 14 Piece Tribute to Michael Jackson

FOREVERLAND will be appearing at the StreetFest Popular Stage on Sunday, August 28, 4:00PM.

Foreverland is a 14-piece Tribute to one of the most well-known and beloved entertainers in the world: Mr. Michael Jackson. With four lead vocalists, four horns, and a six-piece rhythm section, the band brings songs like “Don’t Stop Till You Get Enough,” “Beat It,” and “Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’” to life, in a way that no other group has done before. Inspired by Michael’s legacy, Foreverland takes his music a step further, going far beyond any typical tribute band or MJ act. Rather than be limited by an MJ impersonator and pre-recorded backing tracks, Foreverland’s unique approach celebrates the larger-than-life performances, imagination and infectious spirit of this legendary artist. The result is a fabulous and thumping 14-piece show band that pays homage to MJ’s undeniable talent and timeless dance music.

Entertainment Spotlight: Great Wall Youth Orchestra

Great Wall Youth Orchestra will be appearing at the StreetFest Cultural Stage on Sunday August 28nd at 2:00PM

The Great Wall Orchestra is a Chinese childrens orchestra created by the Purple Silk Music Foundation, an Oakland-based nonprofit that provides a music education program for inner-city youth. Student members range from elementary to high school age and play pieces that reflect their high level of skill in playing their chosen Chinese musical instruments.

Many of the students are recent immigrants or first-generation Americans, and the orchestra offers a special connection between their origins and heritage and their life in the United States. Great Wall performs at many local venues throughout the year. Increasingly, they are invited to perform outside of the San Francisco Bay Area, even abroad.
